Poverty is a serious socio economic issue that prevents individuals or groups of people from reaching their full potential. This problem is caused by a variety of factors all throughout the world. The condition mentioned above may be controlled or eradicated in different ways, but it needs people in charge of important institutions to commit to improving the lives of residents. If given the authority, I would prioritize enhancing access to education for everybody since the major source of impoverishment is a lack of appropriate skills. According to UNESCO, if a high majority of children in third-world nations could learn basic reading abilities, a greater percentage of population would be able to overcome extreme destitution. Furthermore, studies suggest that if more adults had the chance to complete secondary school, the poverty rate in third-world nations would be lowered by more than half. As a result, boosting access to education can considerably aid in improving the living standards of the underprivileged population.
In addition, I would create and execute initiatives to promote food security as well as access to clean water. This is because when individuals of a country eat three meals a day, many residents have the energy to work and earn a livelihood. However, poverty will have to rise in a starving society since many persons would have no determination or the vitality to work. Furthermore, dirty water causes ailments such as cholera and diarrhea. Thus, when people are sick, they lack the energy to perform their daily activities and will not be able to make money. As a result, poverty may be addressed by enhancing food security and providing lots of clean water.
Additionally, a nation’s leadership should avoid war and strife both within and outside its boundaries. Whenever there is a conflict, a significant amount of public money is spent on purchasing ammunition and weaponry. This also happens when opposing groups in a country are engaged in tribal or post-election confrontations. Citizens in this scenario struggle to make ends meet with the little revenue they generate. When there are no skirmishes, nevertheless, the money spent on weapons may be utilized to invest in farming and other industries.
