A Service toDevelop a Partnership With

Disability support services have the opportunity to establish promising partnerships with pharmacy services (chemists).

  1. The organization provides support services for disabled and aged people with their daily tasks. The vision of the organization is to provide the most person-centered services as well as to achieve excellence in disability support. The mission of the organization is to provide the necessary assistance to people with disabilities, as well as the development of the community. The client groups of the organization are people with disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, as well as aged people. The organization’s stakeholders are clients, their families, partners, and members of the local community. The objectives of an organization are to provide high-quality customer assistance, partner relationship management, and interaction with community members.
  2. Disability support and pharmacy services can improve communication for better interaction with clients and better access to pharmacies, as well as raise awareness in the field of medications (Pharmacy and people, 2017).
  3. The partnership will primarily provide customers with the opportunity to interact better with pharmacy services, which will improve their well-being. The organization will be able to communicate more effectively with pharmacy services to provide better support for clients.
  4. The partner company will be able to expand its activities, as well as learn how to work with people with disabilities.
  5. As part of the consultation process, the organization assesses stakeholders, their level of involvement, and the potential impact of the partnership. Further, within the framework of the process, the goals and objectives of the partnership are established, as well as the role of stakeholders in decision-making. Based on the assessment of the situation, as well as the established goals, a strategy for their achievement is developed, taking into account all the relevant needs of clients. The consultation process also includes direct partnership and event management for its implementation. Finally, the partnership is evaluated in accordance with the established goals, as well as potential adjustments to the strategy.
  6. Management strategies of conflict, intellectual property, privacy, and confidentiality are implemented in accordance with the agreements made between the partners.

A Partnership Agreement or Memorandum of Understanding

  1. Purpose or Scope: This MoU is intended to establish the details of the partnership between disability support services and pharmacy services organizations. This document identifies key aspects of a potential partnership and defines the roles of its participants, as well as the relevant procedures.
  2. Terms of the MoU: The initial partnership timeframe provided by this MoU is three months. After this period, an extension is possible for the implementation of a larger number of partner programs. Additionally, early termination is possible in case of failure to fulfill the terms of the partnership by one of the parties.
  3. Goals and Objectives: Partners are agreeing to implement a range of awareness-raising programs for clients with disabilities about the ability to obtain essential medicines, access pharmaceutical services, and improve health and well-being.
  4. Roles and Responsibilities: The role of the support services organization is to facilitate interaction between customers and pharmacy services. The role of pharmacy services is to communicate with customers through established partnership programs. The organization is responsible for providing access and communication resources and keeping customers informed of the programs available. The partner is responsible for the development of the programs and their implementation.
  5. Reporting: Reporting requirements include documenting the results of each client meeting, as well as identifying potential barriers and issues.
  6. Meetings: Meetings are held on the territory of the organization at least once every two weeks. Meetings may take place more frequently when urgent matters arise that require consideration. A minute taker should be hired outside of the organization, and a partner to provide independent activities. The agenda for the meeting must be sent out at least 24 hours timeframe before the meeting. Minutes and other relevant documents must also be sent to all participants within 24 hours of the meeting.
  7. Communication and Information Sharing: The communication plan includes the need to ensure that information is transparently disseminated both during and after meetings to all participants. The information-sharing strategy includes sending electronic copies of all relevant documents within the partnership.
  8. Advertising: The approval process of any promotional materials includes the collection of a meeting and the approval of materials with both parties. The distribution of materials is carried out by the organization directly at the place of implementation of the program.
  9. Intellectual Property: Any intellectual property produced in the partnership is owned by the organization.
  10. Confidentiality: The confidentiality of all information within this partnership affects all relevant materials and documentation.
  11. Conflict and Issue Resolution: Conflicts and issues are resolved within the framework of meetings through general discussion and voting.
  12. Termination: This MoU will be terminated at the end of the partnership.
  13. Review and Evaluation: The progress of the MoU will be reviewed and evaluated based on reaching partnership agreements.
  14. Resources: The organization is committed to providing all necessary resources, including licensing, regulatory or legal, and ethical requirements.

An Evaluation of the Partnership

The partnership successfully achieves its objectives and goals, which identifies its high efficiency. The partnership is working well in raising customer awareness of access to medicines and pharmacy services. One of the signs that the partnership is not working effectively enough for pharmacy services is the rather low rates of new client acquisition. Potential improvements could include the development of promotional programs to provide customers with details of pharmacy services. They can be implemented within existing initiatives and offer closer collaboration. Currently, the partnership can focus on a larger community engagement. The consultation for the evaluation took place on the basis of clients’ feedback, as well as observation of the process of achieving the goals of the partnership.
